Hotel ICON

Hotel ICON sits in the heart of downtown Houston near the University of Houston. The hotel was once a bank built in 1911 and maintains many of the original details including the bank vault. Hotel ICON is just one clock from Metro Rail and bus stops making it easy to commute to business or entertainment.

Hotel Ylem

This fun and creative boutique hotel is perfect for people who love art. When you first walk up to Hotel Ylem, you’ll be greeted with a large mural covering the facade of the hotel. It’s immediately obvious that this hotel is laid-back and very cool.

The hotel is located close to the NRG Stadium and Houston Aerodrome. It’s  just 3 miles from Houston Museum of Natural Science too. Plus, it’s also at the edge of the Brays Bayou hiking trail, so you’ll have plenty to do and explore while you’re in the city.

Rooms at the hotel are simple with carefully chosen eclectic decor, coffeemakers, minifridges, and microwaves. It’s a great spot for families too since some rooms feature sofa beds allowing them to sleep up to 6 guests in just one room. 

Hotel Ylem’s amenities are some of my favorites! They offer a lounge bar, a library, and free parking that’s unusual for the city. Plus, there’s a hot breakfast for guests.

Hotel Zaza

There are two Hotel Zaza locations in the Houston area. Hotel Zaza Houston Memorial city is a 30 minute drive from the Museum Park district, but Hotel Zaza Museum Park is right in the heart of the action. Make sure to choose the right hotel for you.

Hotel Zaza Museum Park is just a two minute walk from Hermann Park and near the Museum Disctric light rail station. The rooms are gorgeous with chandeliers and plus French-inspired sofas. They even offer fun themed suites!

Plus, you can grab free coffee or tea in the pantry available on each floor of the hotel. Hotel Zaza also features an outdoor pool, a spa and sauna, and a fitness center. Don’t miss a chance to enjoy the hotel’s restaurant with great views of the Museum of Fine Arts and the Mecom Fountains.

Houston Towers Inn

At first glance, Houston Towers Inn looks as if it came from the pages of a fairytale. You’ll find this eccentric hotel in the Greater Third Ward near Texas Southern University. It’s just one mile from the peaceful Japanese Gardens at Hermann Park.

Houston Towers Inn is styled after a Victorian mansion guesthouse that’s perfect for relaxing. This adults only hotel features individually furnished rooms with original art from all over the world. Book early if you want to stay here as there are just 7 rooms: 3 standard and 4 suites. 

Suites at Houston Towers Inn feature their own towers! One of the suites even has a balcony to make you feel like the lead character in your very own fairytale. Parking is free and there’s a delicious breakfast served in the funky dining room each morning.

La Colombe D’or Hotel

You will absolutely love the staircase at La Colombe D’or Hotel in Houston! In Montrose, southern hospitality meets global sophistication at this hotel featuring 5 star accommodations. The hotel is named for a famous hotel in France where Picasso’s favorite bar can be found.

La Maison in Midtown

CITYCENTRE is a shopping area in the western part of the city near the Energy Corridor and Westchase Disctrict. The Moran is just a few miles from the hiking trails at Terry Hershey Park and close to lots of elegant dining spots and shopping.

Westin Galleria Houston

Westin Galleria Houston can be found near the Galleria shopping center. It’s super convenient to be near such an enormous shopping center while you’re visiting Houston. 

The Westin offers spacious contemporary rooms that are relaxing for guests. Some of the upgraded suites even have wet bars and living areas with stereos and fitness equipment in the room. 

The hotel also has public spaces to hang out, and three great restaurants on site. One of the best features at the Westin is the rooftop pool where you can relax after a long day of shopping.
