The best Roller Coasters at Six Flags Over Texas
Shock Wave
Shock Wave is a steel roller coaster with some serious G-force, earning it the #5 spot on the list of the top five roller coasters at the thrill capital of Texas: Six Flags.
When Shock Wave opened in 1978, it was the tallest, continuous-circuit roller coaster in the world.
These days, this classic looping roller coaster is still a favorite at Six Flags Over Texas.
With two loops and speeds up to 60 miles per hour, this roller coaster is a fun ride that features an old-school lap bar instead of a shoulder harness.
Batman: The Ride
Based on the superhero film, Batman, Batman: The Ride is one of many themed rides in the park including a corresponding coaster called The Joker. Ride them both for a unique amusement park experience!
The Batman ride is an inverted roller coaster where the train runs under the track. This fun element can make the coaster feel faster than its 50 mile per hour speed.

New Texas Giant

If you want to ride this wooden roller coaster, you’ll need to look for the underground tunnel in the USA section of Six Flags Over Texas.
The tunnel is next to the Texas Skyscreamer attraction. While it can be difficult to find for newcomers, the Judge Roy Scream roller coaster at Six Flags Over Texas is definitely worth the effort for families with young thrill seekers.
